cats and dogs

huge rains last night with lightening and thunder...made me hide under the covers! raining cats and dogs...

Photobucket

the catkins...

Photobucket

the dogwoods...

Photobucket

the vernal pools are teaming with life, and I suspect there were frog and newt migrations amidst the storm. ...

Photobucket

water continues to run off the mountain...on the way to the river...

Photobucket

and birdsong errupts when the rains subside...

I've been spinning a surprise package from Catena...but that is a story for another day...maybe when the sun comes out!

We got that huge thunderstorm last night! The line in the street that feeds our house I believe got hit by lightening and travelled inside despite our house surge protector. We instantly lost power. All is well now. Need to get the SP replaced by our light company.

May has been one of the rainiest months that I can remember. Everything is like a jungle oustide and those who are usually grass cutting fanatics haven't been able to get out and mow because of the wet. Dandelions have gone to seed and are blowing wild.

Thanks for wading out in the mud to take the nature photo's. Loved the catkins and dogwood analogy.

Ohhh - the dogwoods and catkins - and that lovely road. Rainy May has helped heal the dry cracks in the ground here but flooding is on everyone's mind now.

Glad you are enjoying what M squished for you. :)

Spring is really settling in to your mountain side. Don't you just love it?! Those sallies look so delicate yet they are out and about during such storms. Ain't nature grand!

Love the poetry of your post. The blue of the eggshell is delightful.

I have never been to Pennsylvania, but have heard that it's very beautiful. I love reading your blog so I can see more of it!
