digging out

Photobucket

Opening the door in the morning to size up my situation.

Looking up, it appears the snow has stopped for now.

There is a lot of snow to be moved.

It was a good old fashioned type of storm.

Limbs from the old white pines could not withstand the weight of the snow. They broke free and were deposited in a neat pile in the middle of the road, and elsewhere.

Thankfully we didn't loose electricity.

On average it is said that a cubic foot of snow may weigh 15 pounds.

I have my work cut out for me.

And there are others who decide to find a cozy spot and wait for spring.

Oh heavens! Winter just keeps coming for you, doesn't it? It's been VERY spring-like here, even though my planting guides say I can't start the garden until late April. Miss Calico has the right idea, me thinks. :)

Stay warm!

We got that. A predicted "inch or less" turned into about 6-7 inches of heavy wet snow. Luckily for me, my neighbor snowblowed my drive! Very pretty, but I'm ready for spring!

"Cabin fever" is the name of the game this time of the year. Take it easy while shoveling.

Hi Cyndy....we had snow falling for 3 days! You could even see grass in some spots before the snow. Now it's just huge snowbanks everywhere you look and I am tired of shovelling already!

That is what I looked like at the end of the day and I am sure you were too. We went to bed before 9 exhausted! Hope your aches and pains from all the shoveling has subsided some.

I think the cat has the right idea...but after a fun romp through the snowy woods. Beautiful!

Your area has been slammed this winter. It looks like a daunting task, removing that snow. Take care. Be sure to get enough rest between shovel fulls.
