March, mud and mudpuddles...
.... quagmire, spongy earth, gushing run off...
overflow...the ledges release their heavy ice packs...
water trickles through opague and then translucent snow...slush, dripping pools, gurgling brooks...
...you may have noticed the melt today. Tonight the thunderstorm will wake up the woods..

When I went to tuck everyone in tonight I could hear the river roaring from all the runoff. A "stream" suddenly appeared, coming off the mountain and is running down my drive. Not big on the mud but this too shall pass and we can plant!!!
And then it all freezes! YaaaY!! What fun!
It was so warm down here yesterday and now to expect 4-6 inches of snow. hardly seems fair. I'm a little tired of mud. Shoes are stacking up in the aptly named "mud room" as I keep forgetting and walking outside in unmuddy shoes. Oh and those dogs! Dirty, dirty paws!
So much water...20" of snow predicted tomorrow night to top off the week. I love the rushing water shots.
Thank you for a very refreshing walk!
No problem with mud from this vantage point. :-)
Wonderful photos.
What beautiful pictures ! I really miss snow, we havent had any on Fair Isle yet or any frost.
