in preparation

Roc Day is upon us again!

My Almanac states that today is Twelfth Day....

"At Twelfth Day (Jan. 6) the days are lengthened a cock-stride."

The garden is sleeping.

But in the bud, there is a spring that waits to be.

"As the day lengthens, the cold strengthens."

In preparation for tomorrow, Roc Day (St. Distaves Day), I'm clearing the bobbins. And preparing for the icy weather that is predicted.

I look forward to opening up the flax and dressing the distaff!

and to weaving with linen!

Happy Roc Day! Celebrate the Distaff!

Having an inside project is perfect for this weather. Brrrr Coldest I remember for here. I am sure it has been this cold before but I don't remember it. Luckily this time I get to stay inside. Happy Roc Day to you too. Have fun.

Have not spun yet today but now I have to! Today was the first day everyone was back in school or at work so I had the house to myself...and spent it putting everything back in order. Now to finish dinner and then I can spin.

Your linen treads are so brilliant. They'll make a beautiful weaving. I look forward to it.
Winter around the World is crazy. You have cold and we have the weather rather like Spring without frost or snow. It is quite sad. Here is only big dusk. I prefer snow than mud.

Incredible to see your fine spinning. I can't wait to see what you weave.
