miles to go

Photobucket

I'm glad someone around here can sleep. There is so much to be done, that even when I finally put my head to a pillow, my mind is checking over items left on the to do list. I always have trouble sleeping at this time of year, and yet the urge to go and hibernate under a cozy blanket is quite strong. Is it barometric pressure, or just plain pressure that causes me to feel like this?

Maybe it's just the weather report:

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 PM EST WEDNESDAY. SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION EARLY THIS EVENING...BETWEEN 5 AND 8 PM. SNOW...MODERATE AT TIMES...WILL CONTINUE FOR A TIME TONIGHT...BEFORE MIXING WITH AND CHANGING TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN BY AROUND OR SHORTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT. THE WINTERY MIX WILL GRADUALLY CHANGE TO RAIN EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING...ESPECIALLY IN VALLEY LOCATIONS... BEFORE TAPERING TO SOME PATCHY DRIZZLE LATER IN THE MORNING. STORM TOTAL SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 4 INCHES ARE EXPECTED...ALONG WITH UP TO ONE-TENTH OF AN INCH OF GLAZE.

With that weather forecast I'd be hunkering down too. It's supposed to snow here tonight along with some freezing precipitation. It pains me to think of those whose power is still out here. It certainly won't make it easier on the the crews trying to restore power either.

Not to add to the pressure but did you hear the rest of that weather report? ...another storm Friday followed by another on Sunday. A triple whammy. Definitely a time to burrow under the blankets. Keeping my fingers crossed things calm down for you soon.

I find that a storm lifts the pressure. "The weather is awful, the roads are treacherous, all I can do is stay home and knit." - that's what goes through my head, at least for normal storms, not the ones that knock out power for days.

yup, we had that weather in Michigan last night, and a forecast for a repeat of the same on Thurs PM/Fri AM.

Stay warm....deadlines are human constructs.

I could do completely without this time of year. Our forecast is yours, with an 8 hr. delay.

We started with that snow here around 8:30 this morning ... is starting to build up on the ground now .... weather report says that it will likely change to rain along the coast .... hope it does; however, the temp will have to rise considerately first. I have a pair of socks that I've been knitting on ..... :-) ..... Hope that you kept your power.

I was supposed to go to my first spinning guild meeting on Monday and it was cancelled cause of weather like yours. Now we're back to plain ol fluffy snow, which is much preferable. Be careful!

I'm with you! It has been very cold here and we've had snow a couple weeks in a row now.

I do hope you don't have to get out in this weather that is predicted. I think the no sleep situation is attached to this type of weather report. Take care and no caffiene after noon.
