The cold came last night. And when you couldn't see it happen... a film of crystalline ice transformed the forest.
glass trees.....
sleek and symmetrical...
brittle and shiny....
sharp, glistening frost.

Beautiful, beautiful pictures! We might get some snow here in a day or so, but you have certainly put me into a winter mindframe.
Beautiful.....
Your pictures are amazing, what a sight!
That first picture looks like euonymus to me. Ice here, too.
are you thawed and dripping today? hope you didn't have tree damage!
Gorgeous. And I'm glad that's not my yard. ;-)
Crunchy! Also - not fair. It's supposed to be 78 here today. Warm temperatures are so boring.
Beautiful photos! We have snow covering the ground here ..... giving rain for tomorrow.
Beautiful pictures. Just rain here, not ice thank goodness. Our road is a mess in the ice--no one to plow and salt.
It was beautiful, wasn't it?! But glad it wasn't worse...we could have been Missouri if it was just a little colder! Let's see what Sunday's storm brings.
Your photos are gorgeous!
I hope you are thawed out some by now. The ice is beautiful...if you can stay inside.
Beautiful! (I know, redundant, redundant, redundant, but it's the *right* word to use)
I also like your snow pictures with the flash (Dec 13th). The fat blobbly flakes in the foreground and the smaller ones farther back, and then the snow covered boughs... very nice!
