worth waiting for

When spring finally comes to the river valley, there is beauty almost everywhere you look.

The hellebores..

....the hyacinths ...

...the lungwort..all showing bloom. They are my old friends, and I enjoy our visits while they last.

The lilac leaves are as big as a squirrel's ear, and phenological records of the past tell me that it is time to plant potatoes.

There are two new hens in the henhouse.

and a large pileated woodpecker visits the Norwegian Pine stump almost every morning.

Knitting has been getting accomplished, despite the fact that my hands hurt from all the garden work.
This is my amalgamation ...my version of Laura Nelkin's Butin Collar.

Spring is the best of seasons. I love it. Yes, there is so much work in the garden, but all the flowers and their colors and scents... This is a great reward for all the effort. Your spring is very similar to our :-)Greetings from Europe

Of course Spring is worth waiting for. Such beauty abounds. I see the collar you made is as beautiful as the hyacinths. A piece of spring. :)

Happy spring to you!! What a fun picture of the woodpecker. The air here smells so good this time of year. Our black fly have started to bite.

Looks like things are lovely there. We have had much rain and cool temperatures, but in between it has been beautiful!
